Damn it, Amsterdam

Damn it, Amsterdam

Shores, harbour, bycicles, tulips... green leaves ;) ... Amsterdam is like a maze, full of canals, and houses so alike and tall, and yet so different; that these are inviting you to search again and again your way out until you are allowed finally into the open to get on a boat like Dutch always did. But before leaving, take time, rest and enjoy life. This is what Amsterdam really ask you. XXX

Berlin, is (his)story

Berlin, is (his)story

Not so many cities in the world are as famous as Berlin. Even more likely is none as loaded with (bad) history. The World War II, the Cold War,... yet it is now renowned for its dynamism and underground culture. The world meets in Berlin. This means turning bad to good is possible... and that we can remember if we really want to!

London, so british

London, so british

"Would you like a cup of tea?" or a bank account? No! Then maybe some good old fish and ships? All right, whatever you like about London, there is something special about this culture on the other side of the channel... so with a bit of understanding, and careful driving, one might find it pleasant to enjoy the legendary british phlegm.

Helsinki, time city

Helsinki, time city

Day, night alternance is something we are all used to ; our internal biological clock ticks regularly according to it. Part of our mood is linked to sunshine and light, part is due to our ability to relax, rest at night and take time just to contemplate the horizon. In Helsinki, you do not really choose between everlasting night or day, so you'd better make the most out of your time.

Paris, night visions

Paris, night visions

Taking time to step back, look at things from a different angle/perspective. This needs a lot of strength in our society today, especially when it comes to television, as it is a major communication vector for all humans. Is it really more enjoyable to look at a tv screen than to your direct neighboor ? Is this TV show more real than the real world ?

NYC, city of symbols

NYC, city of symbols

Some photographs done on a trip in NYC, June 2008 ; when visiting a friend of mine. I had no particular idea of what I was going to shoot or do, so this is mainly instants taken along walking in the streets of different parts of NYC, from Manhattan to Harlem, through Dumbo.
